5 Rappers Who Have Won ‘Album Of The Year’ At The SA Hip Hop Awards. The SA Hip Hop Awards is one of the most prestigious award ceremonies in the country. SA Hip Hop heads look forward to the awards every year and there are a number of categories for our SA rappers to shine in.

From Remix Of The Year, to Best Freshman, the SA Hip Hop Awards have an award for everyone. With so much competition for 2021 already, who will take the award? Here is a look at the last 5 rappers who have won the ‘Album Of The Year’ award at the SA Hip Hop Awards.

Emtee- 2016

Emtee‘s Avery was released while he was still at Ambitiouz Entertainment. The album was exceptionally received by fans of SA Hip Hop. Avery is named after Emtee’s first son and features the likes of Nasty C, Fifi Cooper, Wizkid and AKA.

Cassper Nyovest – 2017

Cassper Nyovest:

2017 marked Cassper’s first Album Of The Year win. The Family Tree CEO bagged the win for his Thuto album that featured the songs Tito Mboweni, Superman featuring Tsepo Tshola, Baby Girl, Bentley Coupe, and Destiny featuring Goapele. The album was certified Platinum by RiSA.

Cassper walked away with the award in 2020 for his album Any Minute Now. The 21-track album features the likes of Samthing Soweto, Zola 7, Langa Mavuso, YoungstaCPT, and International acts, Bas and Anthony Hamilton. Cassper also walked away with the Best Male, and Song Of The Year Awards.
