Singer/songwriter Saahas has released his debut EP, The Grays, featuring five songs. The Grays was released on March 22nd, 2021, it is his first EP and the second musical release of 2021 for Saahas.
Born in Bangalore, India, Saahas now resides in Los Angeles, California pursuing his dream of a career in music. Saahas creates music that tells a story in an attempt to make the listener connect with the music and feel something deeper inside themselves. Saahas makes music with hard hitting lyrics, catchy melodies and simple grooves.
The Grays starts with a wonderful track called “Living In A Dream.” The song begins with a great guitar interlude with a very bluesy electric guitar riff to set the stage for a beautiful musical intro. I really enjoy the opening singing of “Oooooo’s” and “Ahhhhh”s,” then Saahas begins a melodic acoustic guitar fingerpicking progression. It’s a very motivating track with great energy. The vibe screams hope, excitement and freedom. It’s a great, well put together song as a whole with awesome guitar riffs and solos all throughout, fantastic upbeat drumming, really cool piano/keyboard playing and beautiful vocals from Saahas. The lyrics make you want to go out and take on the world following your passion and finding love.
The second song, “California” is great with wonderful energy being emitted from the music. It’s a very happy and joyous feeling track that makes you feel good. I can just picture myself cruising down PCH on a sunny day playing this song with the windows down and the wind blowing in my hair. The drumming has you tapping your foot to the beat and the guitar playing pulls you in further and further into the music. “Glad You Stuck Around” reminds me of something Ed Sheeran would create. It’s a beautiful love song with lyrics that the listener can relate to and catchy melodies that make you want to sing along and dance to the music. Saahas then slows things down with “When You Fall Apart” it’s a beautiful, touching, emotional piece of music. This song really showcases Saahas’ talent as a songwriter, being able to write catchy melodies as well as emotional ballads. “Love Junkie” is a Michael Buble-esque groovy, fast paced track with awesome lyrical flow.
I’m really impressed with Saahas’ musical talent, his guitar playing, voice, vocal range and overall songwriting abilities. He definitely has created some wonderful songs that tell a good story that allows the listener to connect with, relate to and feel something deep inside themselves.
