“Wish I was from Nigeria too” – Cassper Nyovest

With all the success Cassper Nyovest has in his name, he wishes he was a Nigerian artist more than he is a South African artist.

Cassper says he envies how Nigerians support their artists’ which is not reminiscent back in South Africa.

In a tweet, Cassper remarks that he admires how Nigerian artists have it easy when it comes to getting support.

“Won’t even lie. Wish I was from Nigeria too. The love they have for their own artists, the way they celebrate their culture,” he tweeted.

The artist who was recently crowned artist of the decade, adds that Nigerian music accounts for 90% of local content, unlike in Mzansi.

“90% local content on radio and TV, the way they celebrate music no matter where they are in the world. The unity within the industry is a dream!” Cassper notes.

The ‘Siyathandana’ hitmaker is among the biggest artists from the south. He started off as hip hop star and established a lustrous career with the genre but made a big switch in 2021 to Amapiano.

His second Amapiano song ‘Summer Love’ featuring RAYE debuted in December. The multi-genre artist dropped the new jam to celebrate his birthday on December 16.
